Otis Ferry, the 25-year-old son of Bryan Ferry, has been charged with assaulting two women and stealing their video camera.

Otis is a Pro-hunting campaigner and allegedly attacked the hunt protesters as they tried to film him on the Heythrop Hunt in Gloucestershire.

He was charged with common assault and robbery and will appear in court next month.  A second man who was said to have taken part in the alleged assault in November has not yet been identified, as the attackers were said to have rode off before police arrived.

The two women who were apparently attacked were monitoring potential breaches of the ban when the incident happened and were treated for shock and bruising afterwards.

He was arrested the day after the alleged attack and a Gloucestershire police spokeswoman said “We can confirm that a 25-year-old man from Shrewsbury, in Shropshire, has been charged with robbery and common assault.  He will appear before Cheltenham Magistrate’s Court on May 7th.  This follows an incident in Lower Swell, Gloucestershire, in November last year.  The other man has still not been identified and we would be grateful for any information the public might be able to provide in this matter.”

Otis Ferry is know for his passion of protecting the countryside traditions after being seen storming the House of Commons in 2004 in protest against the hunting ban.
