Rooney is now celebrating the deal in style, with wife Coleen in the luxury resort of Burj Al Arab in Dubai where a four night stay would set you back about £10,000.

The couple are pictured in most of the press today sipping pink champagne as they celebrate the footballers 25th birthday. The couple jetted out to Dubai shortly after clearing the air with United manager Alex Ferguson who suggested that the little darlings needed a break.

One can only assume that Manchester United have agreed to Rooney’s further demands that they buy new players in the January transfer window, in order to retain their presence in another tough season where their bitter rivals Manchester City are gaining ground on them.

Fans who are fed up with footballers quoting, ‘its not all about money’, now know that its is exactly all about money!

Gary Linekar

The 18-year-old son of footballing legend Gary Linekar has reportedly been thrown out of Club Mahiki for allegedly being the worse for wear.

George Linekar who celebrated his 18th birthday at the nightclub only months ago is getting himself quite a name of the social scene which is bound to be more of an embarrassment to his clean living father.

The teenager was seen staggering out of the club accompanied by a group of friends who were helping him to stand on his feet.

Not unusual for a lad of that age to go out and get totally plastered I know but apart from the fact that he only looks about twelve I can just imagine the old line of ‘do you know who my dad is?’!

Manchester United defender Ferdinand put up the money to make the film on the understanding that his childhood friend Tamar Hassan who grew up on the same Peckham estate in south London, would star in the film.

Ferdinand also insisted that fifteen work placements were found for disadvantaged youngsters  that he supports through his Rio Ferdinand Live The Dream Foundation.

The film also stars British actress Brenda Blethyn, who thought she might play the part of a gangsters mole, but ended up playing ’someone’s wheelchair bound Mum.’

American rapper 50 Cent also appears in the film and Blethyn says: “Curtis (50 Cent) was great. My street cred has gone through the roof with all my nieces and nephews.”

Co star in Dead Man Running is Danny Dyer who expressed his gratitude to the footballers for backing the project, saying;

“They were great because they’ve given us publicity and that’s all a film needs. They didn’t get involved because they don’t understand it. You know, I’m not going to tell them how to play football so they weren’t going to start telling us how to make a film.”

Ashley Cole

Ashley Cole has been acting the brat again according to reports, after being fined for being drunk and disorderly.  He became abusive towards the media on leaving a nightclub in the early hours of yesterday morning as they tried to take photographs of him.

Allegedly, member of the press had earlier taken photo’s of Cole and a girl he was talking into inside the club and the camera was seized by a minder.

As well as being fined £80, he spent the night at the Chelsea Police Station.  It was also reported that his football manager has dropped him from this weeks game and fined him two weeks wages.

So, while his wife is taking part in the gruelling trek to Kilimanjaro in an effort to raise money for charity her husband continues to be a loser, out on the lash acting like a chav!

She’s only been back in the UK for a few days and it appears that she still has the same destructive personality that she had before she went.

Amy Winehouse made her appearance at the Oxjam gig, held at Selfridges last night where it was reported that she was behaving erratically and a bit hyper.

The singer is due in court later this month over the alleged assault charges from an incident which took place last September at the End of Summer Ball in Berkeley Square.

Winehouse, was accused of punching a fan who was trying to take a photo of them together.  The girl claimed that Amy had agreed to the snap but when she went to stand next to her, the singer lashed out.

According to rumours, Campbell is planning a party for her man where it is hoped they will announce their engagement!

Amy Winehouse was out on the lash again the weekend and looking worse than ever, so much for her getting her life back on track.

Her behaviour has gone beyond bizarre now as she was seen sprinting around the streets in her dirty ballet shoes, and punching window shutters before returning home in the early hours of the morning, in tears with a coat over her head.

Joey Barton has been released from prison today after serving only 74-days of his six-month sentence for the teenage lad he beat-up in a street in Liverpool in December 2007.

Under the Criminal Justice Act 1991, anyone given a jail sentence of less than 12 months is automatically released after serving half the sentence!

Barton is still on a two year suspended sentence from a separate incident when he attacked a former Manchester City colleague, leaving the victim bleeding and unconscious.

The bloke is just a thug that should never be allowed to play football again!

Bradley Wright-Phillips, 23, and Nathan Dyer, 20, both players for Southampton, were charged after allegedly being filmed on CCTV at the Bar Bluu Club in Southsea, Hampshire, entering an unlocked staff room with friends. Items belonging to staff supposedly went missing, including 3 mobile phones, cash of £145, student cards and cigarettes.

Wright-Phillips, the son of Ian and brother of Shaun and Dyer, were questioned by police on the March 25 and appeared yesterday at Portsmouth Central police station where they were charged. They are due to appear at Portsmouth Magastrate’s Court on July 8.

Both players have been fined two weeks wages and were dropped for one match by Southampton Football Club for late night socialising, although with Wright-Phillips earning £8,000 a week and Dyer earning £5,000 a week, it’s hardly going to break them.

Ian Wright-Philips has said “I will stick by him. My conscience is clean because I know he did not steal anything and he knows he has made a major mistake”.

The 44-year-old former footballer described his son’s disciplinary behaviour as “disgraceful” and told about his concerns at the footballers lifestyles.
